Dr Kenneth Markowitz on Rebuilding Life After Addiction | 1,552

Dr. Kenneth Markowitz understands addiction from both sides of the conversation, as a physician who treated patients for nearly two decades and as someone who faced his own battle with addiction.

A former pediatrician and now an addiction recovery coach, Kenneth brings a rare combination of medical expertise, clinical experience, and lived recovery to the people he serves. After pornography addiction unexpectedly derailed a successful medical career, he was forced to confront the very challenges he had spent years helping others navigate.

That experience became the catalyst for a new calling.

Today, Kenneth helps individuals struggling with both chemical and behavioral addictions move beyond shame, isolation, and self destructive patterns toward lasting recovery and personal freedom. Drawing from his background in medicine, psychology, and his own recovery journey, he offers a deeply personalized approach that addresses the whole person, not just the addiction.

What sets Kenneth apart is his ability to bridge professional knowledge with personal understanding. He knows addiction not only from textbooks and clinical practice, but from the hard earned lessons that come from rebuilding a life.

His message is one of hope and accountability: recovery is possible, transformation is real, and no matter how far someone has fallen, a new chapter can begin.

Addiction recovery coach

I am an addiction recovery coach helping people struggling with chemical and/or behavioral addictions. Prior to coaching I was a pediatrician for over 18 years taking care of children from birth to 21 years old. My own struggles with addiction, specifically pornography addiction ended my medical career prematurely. I am now in recovery for over 3 years and thankfully doing well. I learned about a new way to help people with my medical knowledge, clinical experience and journey through addiction and recovery as an addiction recovery coach.

Prior to beginning my career I completed my pediatric residency training at North Shore University Hospital-Long Island Jewish Hospital in Long Island, NY. I graduated from the State University of NY @ Stonybrook medical school and completed my BA in psychology at NYU.

I have a unique combination of skills and experience for an addiction recovery coach. It's rare to find a recovery coach with a medical degree, almost 20 years of clinical experience, a personal history of addiction and personal and professional experience with the legal system. Through my personal and professional knowledge and experience I am able to individualize the coaching care I provide to each of my clients.
