Ty Brown

Coach

Coach Ty Brown, Executive Director of Brooklyn United Music and Arts Development Inc and Founder of Battle in the Apple.

Recently, Coach Ty faced a life-altering challenge when he experienced a major stroke last December. His recovery journey has been marked by unwavering resilience, faith, and determination. Despite significant setbacks, Coach Ty's spirit remains unbroken, and he is now ready to share his inspiring journey with your audience.

Brooklyn United Music and Arts Development Inc. is a renowned organization that has been transforming the lives of inner-city youth through marching band, music, and dance since its founding in 2013. Under Coach Ty's leadership, the organization has achieved numerous accolades, including a tenured contract with the Brooklyn Nets, and recognition as NYC's most sought-after producer of films related to marching bands. He is also the founder of the Battle in the Apple – which recently wrapped up its March 2025 cycle – and Coach Ty was strong enough to be on sight for this year’s competition…something that he didn’t think would ever be possible again, only a few months earlier.

Coach Ty Brown is impacting communities across the NY tri-state area and beyond – including entertainment – as he is solely responsible for curating the HBCU band scene in the recent season 2 finale of the hit show, “Severance.”

Devoted to empowering young people through music and the arts, still, as he battles his way back to health following a massive stroke – Coach Ty Brown would be a great guest.
