Bill Derrick is a business leader, author, and speaker whose life and work are grounded in resilience, faith, and perseverance. With degrees in civil engineering and business from the University of Minnesota, he began his career in large scale construction before joining his family’s company, Derrick Companies, in 1989.
Alongside his family, Bill helped grow the business through years of success until the Great Recession of 2007 brought devastating challenges. After five years of fighting to keep the company alive, he emerged from that season stronger, only to face an even greater test in 2013 with a diagnosis of Multiple Myeloma, a life threatening blood cancer.
Through extensive treatment, including chemotherapy and a stem cell transplant, Bill has remained in remission and continues to share his story as a source of strength and hope for others.
His book, Restored by the Storm: Navigating Through Life’s Unexpected Challenges, captures the lessons he has learned through adversity, highlighting the power of faith, endurance, and the unexpected blessings that can emerge from life’s toughest moments.
