Kenneth Markowitz believes recovery can become more than a way out of addiction. It can become the beginning of an entirely new way to use your experience, knowledge, and life in service of others.
An addiction recovery coach and former pediatrician, Kenneth works with people navigating chemical and behavioral addictions. His approach is shaped by an uncommon combination of medical training, nearly two decades of clinical experience, and his own deeply personal journey through addiction and recovery.
For more than 18 years, Kenneth practiced pediatrics, caring for patients from birth through young adulthood. His medical career ended prematurely as a result of his struggle with pornography addiction, forcing him to confront significant personal and professional consequences and ultimately begin rebuilding his life from a very different place.
Now more than three years into his own recovery, Kenneth has transformed what he learned into a new way of helping others. As a recovery coach, he combines his understanding of medicine, psychology, clinical care, addiction, recovery, and the legal system to provide individualized support based on the circumstances and challenges of each client.
Kenneth earned his medical degree from the State University of New York at Stony Brook, completed his pediatric residency training at North Shore University Hospital-Long Island Jewish Hospital, and holds a bachelor's degree in psychology from New York University. That professional foundation, combined with lived experience, gives him a perspective that extends beyond theory alone.
Today, Kenneth's work reflects both sides of his story: the physician who spent years caring for others and the person who had to confront addiction, experience its consequences, and learn how to rebuild.
His message is simple: recovery does not erase the past, but it can change what you do with it. Your hardest experiences can become part of the knowledge, purpose, and perspective you use to help build what comes next.
