Phillip Lanier’s journey began in Fort Mill, South Carolina, raised by a teenage single mother without financial stability or a safety net. School was a struggle. He failed English, missed his high school graduation, and at 18 was sleeping in a tent while working multiple low wage jobs just to get by.
Everything changed when he entered the construction industry. With no formal training and no money, Phillip started at the bottom digging ditches and learning every part of the business through hard work and persistence. Over the next 20 years, he built a company that grew to 115 employees before successfully exiting and retiring at 47.
Today, Phillip leads Your Money Essentials, where he mentors individuals who feel stuck and are searching for a clear path forward. His message is grounded and powerful: with grit, faith, and the right guidance, it is possible to change your future.
