Dan Schlund

Dan Schlund—better known worldwide as “The Rocketman”—is an entrepreneur, paramedic, stunt performer, author, speaker, and one of the few people in the world to have mastered the art of Rocketbelt (jet pack) flight.

For more than a decade, Dan performed hundreds of Rocketman flights in 26 countries on 6 continents, entertaining audiences at major events and venues across multiple continents. His career took him from Hollywood stunt work and live-action stunt shows to international Rocketbelt performances.

But Dan’s story is about far more than flying.

His career has included professional stunt work, pyrotechnics, emergency medical services, and film and television production. He eventually became a paramedic, combining his experience in high-risk environments with a passion for protecting the people who work in them.

After catastrophic injuries—including severe burns (loosing 185 inches of skin) and a later crash that left him with a broken neck—Dan was forced to rebuild his life and identity. Rather than allowing those experiences to define his ending, he used them as the foundation for his next chapter.

Dan founded National Set Medics, a nationwide emergency medical services company providing medics for film, television, reality productions, and live events. Grossing over 10 million dollars. The company has grown with over 13,200 registered emergency medical professionals nationwide and has provided medical support for productions including Naked and Afraid and Deadliest Catch.

Today, Dan is also the author of The Last Rocketman and executive producer of the documentary of the same name. The book and documentary tell the story behind the Rocketman persona—including the triumphs, crashes, injuries, setbacks, and ultimately the decision to face his greatest fear: living with regret.
