Author/Founder/Speaker/Coach

Ray Arata, author of SHOWING UP; How Men Can Become Effective Allies in the Workplace, is a speaker, master facilitator, coach, and most of all, he is an ally in training. As an aspiring ally, Ray’s personal mission involves going into the corporate world and getting male executives to stand up and stand strong when it comes to including and advancing women and minorities in the workplace. In this vein, Ray founded the Better Man Conference, a one-day event with resources, support, and community to engage men as allies in creating an inclusive culture. Ray brings his 22 years of healthy masculinity work with men on how to live and lead from the heart to the very relevant topic of enlisting the engagement of men to support inclusive workplace cultures. With over fifteen thousand hours of men’s personal leadership work under his belt, coaching men, holding transformational workshops, and leading men’s groups, Ray brings a unique and much needed experiential point of view that supports organizations in meeting men where they are - without shame or blame - and guiding them on an inclusionary, heart-centric leadership journey.
Additionally, as a co-founder of the Better Man Leadership, a consulting and training firm that seeks to engage men as allies and advocates for diversity, equity, inclusion, belonging and justice, Ray is committed to the transformation of the gender perspective from which organizations engage with all stakeholder groups; customers, employees, investors, partners, and the global community.
Ray wrote his first book, Wake Up Man Up Step Up, as a wake-up call to men that demonstrates how destructive patterns of behavior that are part of an outdated and unsuccessful definition of masculinity keep men from achieving success in their roles as partners, fathers, husbands, leaders, and friends. He offers a roadmap to better relationships by transforming such behaviors into healthier, more positive actions. Ray is very excited about his upcoming book, SHOWING UP: How Men Can Become Effective Allies in the Workplace which will help readers turn good intentions into action. His book offers support for those seeking to engage in impactful allyship and leadership - for those men seeking to be “better men” in their roles as allies, leaders, and partners. He supports his readers to rewrite their own version of healthy masculinity with key concepts and actionable exercises that can be implemented in their day to day behaviors.
