Amy Armstrong believes conflict does not have to destroy relationships. With the right tools, even difficult moments can become opportunities for healthier communication, stronger boundaries, and meaningful change.
A licensed social worker, conflict resolution specialist, parent coach, educator, and speaker, Amy has dedicated her career to helping families navigate some of their most challenging transitions. As co-founder of The Center for Family Resolution in Columbus, Ohio, she has helped advance trauma-informed approaches to separation, divorce, co-parenting, relationship conflict, and other complex family dynamics.
With a background in education and social work, Amy brings together coaching, conflict resolution, and practical communication strategies to help parents move from chaos toward greater clarity and cooperation. Her experience extends from direct work with families to leadership within courts, schools, professional organizations, and community programs.
Amy is also the co-author of the award-winning book Real-Time Parenting: Choose Your Action Steps for the Present Moment, which equips parents with practical tools for responding intentionally to everyday challenges. As Director of Education at The Center for Coach Development, she also prepares professionals pursuing International Coaching Federation credentials to become more effective coaches.
Throughout her career, Amy has contributed to family law reform initiatives, dispute resolution programs, professional education, and social-emotional learning while speaking on topics including trauma-informed conflict resolution and the dynamics of power.
Her message is simple: conflict is part of being human, but with awareness, communication, and the right support, families can learn to move through it in healthier and more constructive ways.
