Patricia Knight Meyer believes everyone deserves to know the truth about where they came from, and no one should have to fight for decades to reclaim their own identity.
An adoptee, author, and adoption reform advocate, Patricia's life began with an illicit black-market adoption in Texas. Without formal adoption proceedings or proper documentation, she grew up facing questions about her origins that would eventually lead her on a decades-long search for answers.
Her forthcoming memoir, WONDERLAND: Memoir of a Black-Market Adoption, reveals the emotional and legal complexities of her experience, from uncovering the circumstances of her adoption to reuniting with both biological parents and finally receiving an accurate birth certificate at age 47.
A journalism graduate of the University of Texas, Patricia also shares her experiences through MyAdoptedLife.com, where she explores identity, family reunification, and the lifelong impact of adoption. Her reunion story has reached more than 280,000 viewers on YouTube.
Her message is simple: knowing where we come from is more than curiosity. It is about truth, identity, belonging, and the right to understand our own story.
