How to Stop Living for Others and Start Living for Yourself with Courtney Freeman | 1,659

Courtney Freeman believes success means very little if the life you have built no longer feels like your own.

Through her podcast, The Unbroken Blueprint, Courtney explores the emotional patterns and expectations that influence how people see themselves, navigate relationships, and make decisions. Her conversations examine identity, personal growth, emotional patterns, and what it means to create meaningful change without relying on burnout, constant striving, or abandoning yourself in the process.

At the heart of her philosophy is a powerful distinction: there is a difference between creating a life that looks successful and creating one that actually fits. Courtney encourages people to examine the roles they have learned to perform, question what no longer feels authentic, and develop enough trust in themselves to make healthier choices, even when those choices are difficult.

Her approach is simple: less force, more alignment. Less performance, more truth.

Courtney's message is for people who are ready to stop performing a version of who they believe they should be and begin building something more honest, steady, and free.

Her message is simple: you do not need to become someone new to create a life that fits. You need the courage to stop abandoning who you already are.

Courtney Freeman believes success means very little if the life you have built no longer feels like your own.

For much of her life, Courtney understood how to be capable, responsible, and reliable. But beneath those qualities, she began recognizing something deeper: even highly functioning and self-aware people can become so accustomed to meeting expectations, fulfilling roles, and doing what is required that they lose connection with what actually feels true to them.

That realization became the foundation of Courtney's work and what she calls the Unbroken Blueprint, an approach centered on moving away from performance and toward a life built on identity, self-trust, and genuine alignment.

Born and raised in New Orleans, Louisiana, Courtney Freeman grew up navigating the emotional complexities of a home shaped by addiction, instability, and unspoken wounds. With an alcoholic father and a stepfather who struggled with commitment, she learned early to find her footing through achievement — excelling in sports and academics, and becoming the quintessential firstborn overachiever who rarely put a foot wrong.

After Hurricane Katrina, she entered the beverage distribution industry, building a successful career while quietly carrying the weight of childhood trauma and misaligned beliefs she hadn’t yet recognized as her own. A chance opportunity working as a production assistant on a film set in New Orleans changed the course of her life — she fell in love, relocated to Los Angeles, and built a life that looked whole from the outside while the inside told a different story.

It wasn’t until COVID-19 brought the world to a standstill that everything came to the surface. Locked down in California with two young children, the patterns and cycles rooted in her earliest wounds could no longer be ignored. In July 2020, she made a life-changing decision: she entered a weeklong childhood trauma survivors intensive program at The Meadows in Arizona — and has not had a single sip of alcohol since.

That week became the foundation of a profound healing journey. Through deep therapeutic work, she began untangling decades of trauma, people-pleasing, and performance-based living. That healing, as transformative as it was, also brought necessary endings — … Read More
